Food Safety and Security for the World's Largest One-Day Crowd
Feeding the Indy 500
Cost: $35
This year, the EDEN Annual Meeting will ramp things into high gear with a pre-conference educational opportunity to learn about food safety and security at the world's largest single-day event. Free time is included in the day's schedule, giving you a chance to visit the Indy 500 Museum, take a lap around the track, or golf the Indy 500.

Depart for Indianapolis 500 Track and Brickyard Crossing

9:30 to 11:15
Tour of Facilities

11:15 to noon
Lunch (included) at the Brickyard 500

12 pm
Afternoon (free time):
  • Museum and/or take a lap around the Indy 500 (fee total $4 not included in registration)
  • Golf -- Few people know there's an 18 Golf Course incorporated into the track.
    • Learn more: Please note, that the golf course may or may not be open during the day we visit due to weather. Arrangements to golf should be made in advance by using the Website above or contacting them directly.  We will provide a return van from the 500 if needed up to 5 pm.

Return to Hotel for an evening reception and poster session beginning at 5:30. See meeting agenda.

  • Transportation will be provided back to the hotel until 5 p.m. (1 pm, 1:30, 2 and 4:30 and 5). It's a short Taxi ride if you want to golf later than that.

Closing out the meeting, we have networking time for groups and time to step back and enjoy the artist activities of Nashville, Indiana.

  • Working with Your State VOAD. Steven Cain, President, Indiana VOAD

8:30 to 9 am
Depart Sheraton     Vans will be provided.

9:15 am
Arrive at Purdue Extension Office Brown County
  • Flood issues from a county educator experience  Scott Gabbard, Shelby County Purdue Extension educator serving on their long-term recovery committee       

11 to 11:30 am
Lunch on your own
11:30 to 1 pm

Individuals and groups are on their own.

1 to 3 pm
The Extension office will be available if you want to get a group together.
Vans will be available for a tour of Brown County State Park.

Or you can enjoy all of the art and culture of Nashville, IN. Take a look:

Vans return to the hotel or go to airport (Get on the right van!)
Plan on being at the hotel or airport by 5 pm.
