S-CAP Tabletop Exercises

In Spring 2013, the Strengthening Community Agrosecurity Preparedness (S-CAP) program launched a Pilot Tabletop Exercise (TTX) program.  The TTX project uses a variety of planning-based scenarios that participants can choose from to assess the adequacy of their local emergency operations plan to address specific agricultural emergency-related capabilities. Currently funding is being sought to incorporate feedback derived from the TTX exercises into a final product that can be disseminated to certified S-CAP trainers for use in their states.

Sites involved in the pilot phase of the Tabletop Exercise Program (see image A):
  • Salt Lake City, Utah (February 28, 2013)
  • Danville, Indiana (March 6, 2013)
  • Billings, Montana (March 12, 2013)

The tabletop exercises were funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), Food and Agriculture Defense Initiative (FADI), and the USDA-NIFA Smith Lever Special Needs (SLSN) Competitive Grants Program (2012-41210-20062).
