Resources to Prepare a Disaster Business Plan

Designed for Land Grant University specialists, Cooperative Extension Service educators and/or volunteers located in counties around the United States

Intended for people interested in helping small- and medium-sized businesses survive potential disaster.

Through this course participants will:

  • Develop a basic understanding of disaster preparedness and the importance of business planning;
  • Uncover the significance of communicating regularly with employees before, during and after an incident.
  • Recognize the need for evacuation and shelter-in-place plans.
  • Take steps to safeguard their company and secure their physical assets.

Course Basics

Target Audience: Business owners, managers, employees.
Delivery Method: Classroom style
Cost: EDEN does not charge for use of these materials.Cost will depend on the local cost of meeting space (if offered in a classroom setting) and printing handouts.
Course Length: Three hours 
University Credit: No
Materials: Instructor's Guide, PowerPoint Presentation, Course Outline, and DHS Mentoring Guide.
