Next 48 Weather Dashboard Now Available
Introducing the new EDEN Next 48 Weather Dashboard
Tom Priddy, University of Kentucky Meteorologist and our resident EDEN weather guru, has created a new tool for use by delegates and others. The Next 48 Weather Dashboard offers a full suite of weather maps and other disaster status maps customized by state. It is designed as a one stop source for an immediate overview of current weather, forecasts, radar, flood status, drought monitor, flu information and more.
Tom will offer a webinar on Tuesday June 5 at 11:30 a.m. Eastern to explain some of the information and the navigation of the site. It will be provided via Adobe Connect. Just log in to the session at https://gomeet.itap.purdue.edu/eden2012/. Tom's audio will be through Adobe Connect, and you will be able to ask questions via the chat feature.
Can't attend the scheduled time? Don't worry. There will be a recorded version available online after the session is over.
You can view Next 48 at http://weather.uky.edu/php/next48.php. You will be taken to a map of the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Guam and Puerto Rico. Select the state/territory you wish to view and scroll down to see the entire collection of information. Some delegates may want to copy and paste the url of their state link as an opening page in a commonly used browser, while others might prefer to save the link for future reference. Next 48 will be a permanent feature of EDEN Disaster Watch and the single-state versions can be added to your EDEN state page.
Plans for a version 2.0 are already in the works so your feedback on this tool is welcomed. One feature likely to be included is the ability to select only those maps and information particularly relevant to you.
Our thanks to Tom and his crew at UK for all of their work on this enhancement for EDEN delegates.
