Research Data Collections 

NOAA's nowCOAST  - nowCOAST is a web mapping web page providing links to thousands of real-time coastal observations and NOAA forecasts of interest to the marine community.

Hurricane Katrina and Rita Clearinghouse Cooperative - GIS clearinghouse established at the Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge to facilitate the collection, dissemination, and archiving of data related to Hurricane Katrina and Rita.

SHELDUS™ 7: A county-level hazard data set for the U.S. for 18 different natural hazard events types such thunderstorms, hurricanes, floods, wildfires, and tornados. For each event the database includes the beginning date, location (county and state), property losses, crop losses, injuries, and fatalities that affected each county. The data set does not include Puerto Rico, Guam, or other U.S. territories. The new version of SHELDUS™ (7) contains more than 600,000 records and spans the years from 1960 through 2008.

Note: Watch and outlook sites frequently also have historical data.
